Rich Jerk’s guide to internet marketing is interesting to say the least. The guy is exactly what he says he is. Some of his techniques could be called questionable by many. But the point is, he lays it all out on the line and holds nothing back. He says he’s going to describe exactly what he does to make money online and that’s what he does, no holds barred. I’ve read other reviews saying that all of this information is available online for free, but I challenge that claim. It may be stunningly obvious to internet marketers that have been around and played the game for a while, but what about the green newbies like myself? This information is very useful and there is also a section geared towards beginners. The time I saved by buying the book was worth not having to look everywhere on the internet for answers and possibly not finding any. I’ve already followed many of the techniques and I am setting up to do even more with Rich Jerk’s system in the near future. Anybody who’s looking to have a career in internet marketing can definitely gain something from this. I wouldn’t describe it as a perfect beginner’s guide. It IS more geared to someone with a little bit more experience, but it also wasn’t beyond my understanding. I had no trouble grasping the concepts and seeing the potential of the various techniques. A book I also bought which is probably the perfect BEGINNER’s guide to internet marketing is Holly Mann’s Honest Riches. I also got a lot from Holly’s book and I will do a review on it in the near future. But I feel like Rich Jerk is a perfect companion to Honest Riches and the two are an awesome starter set for any aspiring internet marketing entrepreneur.

I have recently undertaken a fledgling internet marketing career of my own. I was encouraged after attending a party thrown by the Rich Jerk in August 2007 at the Playboy mansion. This was the first time I had really been exposed to the world of the internet marketer. I actually didn’t go through the Rich Jerk. I went through another colleague who I will leave unnamed but who is an associate of RJ. The first question that popped into my astonished mind as I entered the mansion grounds was “Who is the Rich Jerk and how can he afford to put together a party at the Playboy Mansion?”

Immediately after that I thought “Wow!” and continued to think that for the rest of the night. There were scantily clad(and even no clad )beautiful women EVERYWHERE. Probably more in one place than I had ever seen before in my life. I’m just a country boy from North Carolina, so you can imagine how the beauty(not just beauty, but Playboy beauty) struck me. There was also an open bar, so no worrying about tabs or running short of money for drinks. This was the hedonistic paradise that I had read about and seen in the media for so long. There were many celebrities around as well, albeit mostly has-beens, but it was still fun nonetheless. I met Mystery from the VH1 show The Pickup Artist; Neil Strauss, New York Times bestselling author; Pauly Shore, who needs no introduction to anyone who has seen any of his “interesting” movies; Bobby Brown, who made a few complaints during the night of the staggering child support he undoubtedly must pay Whitney Houston; Mad Mike from MTV’s Pimp My Ride; Bishop Don “Magic” Juan, probably the most famous pimp in history. It was fun seeing and interacting with these people that I had only previously seen or read about.

Back to the women. There were Playboy bunnies, body-painted Playmates, porn stars, and just generally beautiful women everywhere you looked. Girls were getting frolicky and crazy as they played in and out of the pool and the infamous “Grotto” area.

I also took a tour of the mansion grounds. The tour guide was a former Playmate from 1998 and also claimed to be in a Weezer video. She was very kind and extremely knowledgeable of the grounds and the history of Playboy. Not to mention she was gorgeous! She informed us that the mansion is legally considered a zoo as well because of all the exotic animals on the premises.

After seeing everything, I went back and got another drink and headed over to check out some of the celebrity and athletic memorabilia up for auction. It was a charity event so the proceeds from these items were going to a good cause.

The party ran until about midnight:30 at which time after-party activity occurred and which I won’t get into here

The point of all this is that I really enjoyed the time I had while in L.A. and ESPECIALLY at the Playboy mansion and I want just a fraction of this lifestyle. I’m currently in contract for my other career for 8 more months and I’m working on getting a firm grip on the internet marketing in that time so that I can at least make as much as I’m making now by the time I get out. I will be posting here my lessons, my progress, and reviews of products I use among other things to learn this craft.
